You can register for fall ballet and jazz dance classes in Longwood at any point in the season, because Turning Pointe is always taking registrations. Pick a class from the current schedule, pay the registration fee, and set up monthly tuition. Free trial classes help you confirm the fit first.
Dates still matter, though. Popular class times fill, and the Winter Performance has its own registration and payment dates. If you have questions before you sign up, reach out to our team or call (407) 862-5500.
How does the fall dance season calendar work?
Our year runs in seasons. Fall and spring classes meet weekly with monthly tuition, the Winter Performance comes in December, the Spring Recital closes out the year, and a shorter summer session follows with classes paid by the class.
Because fall classes build week by week, starting sooner gives a dancer more time to learn the routine before the Winter Performance. That doesn't mean late starters are left behind. Our teachers are used to welcoming new dancers during the season.
This year's Winter Performance is at the Apopka High School Auditorium on Wednesday, December 16, and Thursday, December 17, 2026, with both shows at 5:30 pm. It is a short drive from our studio on Wekiva Springs Road.
Some classes on the schedule are marked with asterisks. One asterisk means the class performs in the recital but does not get a costume. Two asterisks mean the class does not take part in the winter performance or recital, which suits dancers who want classes without the stage.
What registration deadlines should Longwood families know?
There is no single cutoff for joining fall classes, since we accept registrations year round. The dates to watch are the ones tied to performances and payments.
Winter Performance registration is open now through our Akada parent portal. The $50 per dancer Winter Performance fee is charged to the card on file on Monday, November 2, 2026, so families who want their dancer on stage in December should register before then.
A mother reached out to us because her daughter was ready to sign up for classes in the fall. She told us her daughter had spent the summer running make-believe ballet classes for her stuffed animals. We walked her through the next steps, the deadlines, and what was included, so she knew exactly what to expect.
That conversation is one we have often with families from Longwood, Altamonte Springs, and the neighborhoods off Wekiva Springs Road. A quick call before you register can save you from missing a date that matters.
What does dance class tuition include?
Monthly tuition covers your dancer's weekly classes. A 45-minute class is $70 per month, a one-hour class is $80 per month, and each additional class is $65. Unlimited classes are $600 per month for one dancer or $900 per month for a family.
The registration fee is separate: $75 for one dancer or $100 for a family. Performance costs are also separate. The Winter Performance is $50 per dancer. The Spring Recital Package is $200 for one dancer and one costume, plus $100 for each additional class.
Adults have options too. Adult Tap meets Monday evenings, and Shine Fitness classes run on mornings and evenings during the week. Many parents end up signing up for a class of their own once their child gets started.
Competition team tuition and fees are handled separately, so call the studio for those. You can review every rate on our pricing page.
How are dancers placed by age and level?
Most dancers are placed by age first, then by level as they progress. That keeps each class working at a pace that feels right for everyone in the room.
Our schedule groups younger dancers into Tiny Dance for ages 2 to 3, Preschool Combo for ages 3 to 5, Mini for ages 4 to 6, Petite for ages 5 to 7, Junior for ages 8 and up, and Pre-Teen for ages 10 and up. Older and more experienced students move through levels in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and more, all the way to Pre-Pointe and Pointe.
Some classes need an assessment first. Dancers over age 5 who want acro or tap are assessed, and competition dancers need a level placement. Just call the studio to set that up.
If you are not sure where your dancer fits, that is what we are here for. Since 1996, we have helped Longwood students of every age find the right class, and we would be glad to help yours.
How do you reserve a spot before classes fill?
Choose a class, try it, then register. The sooner you do, the better your chances of getting the day and time that work for your family.
Start by browsing the current class schedule and noting two or three options that fit your week. Weekday afternoons and evenings are the busiest, while Saturday mornings offer a Preschool Combo and a Mini Ballet, Jazz, and Tap combo.
Free trial classes are offered throughout the season, and you can take as many as you like. Just stop by the office a few minutes before class to sign a waiver. No advance call is needed.
When you find the right fit, complete your registration through the parent portal and pay the registration fee to hold your spot.
