Dazzlers will most likely attend two competitions during the year. At competitions, the Dazzlers will perform their number(s), and will also be supportive of the rest of the studio.
I believe competitions should be a healthy experience, and therefore I will encourage it as a performing opportunity and not a “competition”. Competition is for the dancers to share their talents with the rest of the dance community, and it should be a rewarding experience for them. They will be encouraged by watching the other dancers, and they will learn the importance of teamwork.
Dazzlers will be required to attend two conventions. They will take classes for two days from amazing teachers that are well known throughout the nation. Most of the teachers come from New York and Los Angeles. Conventions are a great opportunity for the dancers to be introduced to new forms of dance as well as new kinds of teaching. The dancers will have a blast at convention, and will come home with so much knowledge and enthusiasm for the art form. If possible, we may compete a few group numbers at the conventions, but this will be decided by the teachers at Turning Pointe
